Are You A Stripe Rebel?
I wear stripes in rebellion. I wear stripes for every time I’ve picked up a magazine or watched a fashion segment on TV that projected this notion that STRIPES were not for plus size women or women with big hips, or anything big for that matter. God forbid if stripes were horizontal. Always remember this, life is too short, wear what you want to wear! Be bold! Be confident! And rebel against all fashion rules!
For this look I wanted to create a look that set an edgy and rebellious tone to a classic look. I’m totally obsessed with classic minimalist black and white pieces. My Society+ stripped dress with an asymmetrical slit offered the perfect balance of casual and edge. I love how the bold black stripes pops off the ivory. The stripes cascades down the dress providing an endless focal point.
The silhouette is everything and the perfect pre-fall dress. The sleek silhouette and short sleeves provide the perfect opportunity for layering. As the crisp and cool air moves in for fall, I would add a cute distressed denim jacket for a casual daytime look or a crop leather jacket for a perfect night out on the town look. To achieve my edgy and rebellious look I had to finish the look with the ultimate rebel-isque shoe – The Gladiator Sandal. Whenever you want to feel sexy, bold, powerful, fierce, or edgy throw on a pair of strappy/tie up shoes!
