I’m kicking the new year off with a retro inspired look. When I think of 1950’s fashion, it represents the essence of femininity given the abundance prints (floral, polka dots, geometric), poodle skirts, and A-line dresses. I wanted to give a modern twist to 1950 vibes of polka dots and fuzzy heels!
Classic 1950’s feminine staples with a modern twist! Pink, polka dots, florals, ruffles, are feminine fashion aesthetics that I always gravitate towards. Black and white polka dots with a pop of pink can do no wrong in my eyes. 1950’s nightwear was the style inspiration behind this look. I’m totally obsessed with vintage night coats and fuzzy heeled slippers. Women in the 50’s would get dolled up to go to bed. On the other hand, I don’t even own real pajamas (lol).
Let’s face it, this look is all about my vintage black and white polka dot duster and pink faux fur trimmed heels. First, let’s talk the duster. I’m all about bold prints and colors. My vintage black and white polka dot duster from Diva Xpress is a standout statement piece. I have many polka dot pieces in my wardrobe, you should too. Polka dots are carefree and fun, but also bold and eye- catching. The best way to style polka dots are to add a pop of color; in this case pink! Next, let’s talk my brilliant faux fur trimmed heels from Rainbow. My fuzzies are so whimsical, yet very chic because they are an update to the fuzzy bedroom slippers. To add a modern twist to the look I paired my polka dot duster and pink fuzzies with a classic black relaxed tee and black skinny distressed denim.
